Qualification for the World Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Competition FIRA 2024 Brazil

The Federation of International RoboSports Association (FIRA) Canada and Canadian National Robotic Society (CNRS) extend a warm invitation to both seasoned participants and newcomers to join us for the 1st Canada FIRA RoboWorld Cup Open Competition 2024 in Vancouver, Canada. Scheduled to take place from the 18th to the 19th of May 2024. As you join in on the exciting adventure of robotics excellence at the FIRA Cup Canada 2024 in Vancouver this March, get ready to witness teams from Canada and beyond showcasing their skills in robotics, problem-solving, and teamwork.

FIRA stands as the pioneering force in intelligent robot soccer competitions, established by Prof. Jong-Hwan Kim of KAIST, Korea, in 1996. FIRA’s mission encompasses three core objectives: (a) providing challenging benchmarks for cutting-edge research in intelligent robotics, (b) equipping senior students with invaluable skills and experiences important for their careers in the modern economy, and (c) introducing junior students to the foundational principles of STEAM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math).

Dedicated to nurturing innovation, collaboration, and excellence within the Canadian robotics landscape, CNRS empowers the local robotics community. Our vision is to cultivate a platform for knowledge exchange, skill enhancement, and technological breakthroughs, thereby positioning Canada at the forefront of the global robotics arena.

FIRA Canada Frontiers Camp (FCFC)

17^th – 19^th May 2024, Vancouver, Canada

The FIRA Canada Frontiers Camp (FCFC), scheduled to coincide with the FIRA Cup Canada 2024, presents a unique opportunity for participants to acquire foundational knowledge in robotics. The program places emphasis on essential problem-solving techniques, system development, testing, and debugging. This year’s FIRA Frontiers curriculum will focus on instructing students in physics, coding, control systems, and software design within the domain of autonomous drones. Moreover, students will gain insight into the application of their robotics skills across various disciplines.

It is important to note that the primary objective of the camp is not to directly enhance participants’ prospects of winning subsequent FIRA competitions. In fact, instructors and mentors will minimize their involvement in upcoming FIRA competitions and refrain from offering strategies or hints for future events.

The FIRA Frontiers Camp does not focus on one particular robot kit. Instead, it tries to use open-source software and hardware whenever it can.
